Intro
Real Maine Mom began as a lifestyle blog for moms in 2019 and has since grown into a trusted local resource guide for life with kids in Maine. The truth is, you don’t have to be a mom to enjoy our content, you just need to appreciate a mom’s perspective. Our focus is all about making the most of life with kids in Maine, especially in the Greater Portland area.
Meet the Founder
Lisa, Managing Editor, Owner & Founder

Hi, I’m Lisa. I am the founder of Real Maine Mom and a mom of two raising my family in Greater Portland. I grew up in Central Maine and graduated from St. Joseph’s College of Maine for both undergrad and graduate school. I have spent many years working in web, social media, and marketing, and that experience, combined with my years as a stay at home parent, became the foundation of the work I do today.
Real Maine Mom began in 2019 as a small idea and a personal outlet during early motherhood. What started as something simple grew slowly and organically, shaped by real life and real community. In 2023 it began to blossom into what it is today: a powerful, community-focused resource built entirely from the ground up with a one hundred percent local focus.
Motherhood and Real Maine Mom are woven together for me. This work became the way I found my own purpose, and it allows me to show my children what it looks like to build something meaningful for your community. I hope to help other moms discover their own path too, because motherhood can be an isolating season and so many of us lose pieces of ourselves in the selflessness of it. Real Maine Mom is my way of creating connection, support, and something bigger to be part of.
Fun fact about me: both of my girls were born on their due dates, which feels like proof that I used to be very punctual before I had kids.
